Intensification is regarded as markers of intensify by structural linguists and grammarians. Under the light of Appraisal Theory by Martin and White (2005), intensification is understood not only as markers of intensity, but also as conveyers of meaning categorized into isolating and infusing intensification respectively. This paper aims to investigating strategies for translating English infusing intensification into Vietnamese and examine how the meaning of English infusing intensification is rendered into the target language. The study was conducted using qualitative method to analyze 200 samples extracted from English literary works and their corresponding Vietnamese translations. The research findings reveal the key strategies used to transfer English infusing intensification into Vietnamese, alongside the syntactic and semantic shifts occurring in the translation process. Understanding how this meaning is transferred in Vietnamese translation is essential and useful in the sense that it contributes to a deeper insight into the manipulation of this category of language, thereby facilitating effective cross-cultural communication.
