Privacy Statement

The International Journal of Language Studies (IJLS) is committed to protecting the privacy of authors, reviewers, and readers.

  1. Data collection and use — We collect names, email addresses, institutional affiliations, and (for reviewers) areas of expertise, solely to manage submissions, peer review, editorial communication, and publication.
  2. Confidentiality — Personal data is kept confidential and is not shared with third parties without consent, except where required by law. IJLS operates open peer review, so authors and reviewers know one another’s identity; reviewer names are disclosed to authors with the review and, where a reviewer consents, alongside the published article. Reviewer reports and correspondence remain confidential to the editorial process until publication.
  3. Data security — Submission and review systems use encryption and other safeguards; access is restricted to authorized personnel.
  4. Data retention — Personal data is retained only as long as necessary and is then securely deleted or anonymized.
  5. Your rights — You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
  6. Updates — This statement may be updated periodically; changes are posted on this website.
