Information For Authors
The International Journal of Language Studies (IJLS) welcomes original theoretical, empirical, and applied submissions in linguistics, applied linguistics, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics and cognitive linguistics, corpus linguistics, language policy and planning, and interdisciplinary/cross-cultural language research. Please review the About the Journal page for the full Aims and Scope before submitting.
Before you submit
- Read the Author Guidelines and Submission Checklist on the Submissions page.
- Download and format your manuscript using the official IJLS Paper Template (.docx) — it sets out the required structure and formatting (A4, Times New Roman 12pt, 2.5cm margins) and the APA 7th-edition (author–date) citation style used throughout the journal.
- Confirm the manuscript has not been previously published and is not under consideration elsewhere, and that permission has been secured for any third-party material (photos, datasets, etc.).
Peer review and timeline — All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by at least two independent expert reviewers, following an initial editorial screening for scope and quality. The average time from submission to online publication is approximately 10–14 weeks, covering editorial screening, peer review, revision, copyediting, and proofreading.
Article Processing Charge (APC) — IJLS charges USD 100 per article, payable only after acceptance; there is no submission fee, and editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit. Fee waivers may be considered in cases of genuine financial hardship — contact the editorial office to discuss. Full payment options are listed on the APC Payment page.
Open access and copyright — Accepted articles are published immediately under a CC BY 4.0 license; authors retain full copyright and are free to reuse, archive, or share their own work.
How to submit — Register with the journal (or log in if already registered) and follow the five-step online submission process. For questions, contact the editorial office at editor@ijlangstudies.org.
